Terry Higgins marks a transition point between the glamour girls
of the 1950's and the pixie-like sex kitten of the 1960's. She defiantly
has the buxom blonde look going for her (with measurements of 40-23-37),
but she also has that girlish quality that you see in pin-up girls of the
mod generation. She mixed the sultry and the playful and had an alluring
innocence that made her photos leap off the page. Higgins
started her pin-up career in the late 50's at the age of 18 and was a regually-featured
cutie in such classic men's magazines as Adam, Modern
Man, and Jem. She fit in very well with the playfulness
of the classic pin-up style, but also had a fashion model aura about her
that helped her survive when the burlesque dancer look fell out of favor.
Unfortunately,
Higgins didn't do much beyond her pin-up career.
She was a dancer/showgirl for a while, did some nudie-cutie films, and
had bit parts in Hollywood movies--most notably Jerry Lewis'
"The Nutty Professor."
