Russ Meyer
1922--2004
Photographer and filmmaker Russ Meyer died
Saturday (September 18, 2004) at his home in Hollywood Hills. He was 82.
Meyer produced some of the best pin-up photos ever including stunning pics
of Tempest Storm, Virginia
Bell, June Wilkinson, Anita
Ekberg, Sabrina, Diane
Webber, his longtime companion Kitten Natividad,
his one-time wife Eve Meyer, and countless others.
With his debut film "The Immoral Mr. Teas" (1959), he helped define the
nudie-cutie genre of exploitation films. He was also the genius behind
the cult classics "Faster, Pussycat. Kill! Kill!"
(1965) and the major studio release "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" (1970)
(co-written by movie critic Roger Ebert). His love of women (and in particular
their breasts) made him a god among men. He is what all we dirty-old-men
in-training aspire to be. Farewell, Russ!
