The Stooges' Lost Episodes"The Stooges' Lost Episodes"
by Tom & Jeff Forrester
Contemporary Books, 1988
Women are from Venus, Men are from Stoogeville. As every true bachelor will confirm, there are none better than the holy trinity of Moe, Larry, and Curly (Shemp/Joe Besser/Curly Joe). The authors used bloodhound tenacity to find information about these "lost episodes" and to lead readers where to find copies. The book traces forgotten episodes from their earliest days with Ted Healy (when they were known as the Racketeers) to their final movie Kooks' Tour (1969). Besides finding forgotten films featuring the trio, the Stooges' Lost Episodes also lists solo appearences/projects that each of the boys had. A quick scan over the index will surprise one just how many films have been lost, and will warm the heart of every true fan that they are found again. Most of theses "lost episodes" can be found at any good video store, and, speaking from personal experience, well worth the experience.
